Moving towards real time integrated surveillance

Diseases like Ebola are a danger not only for people’s lives, but also for the economy of a country. Faster recognition tools have to be implemented to prevent outbreaks like the 2014 Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

Jakob Zinsstag explains, with a theoretical model, how the response time after diagnosing an illness could be reduced and which aspects are very important to prevent greater damages and outbreaks.
