For this reason, it makes no difference whether your data is of interest or not. The accounts are used to steal the identities of third parties, among other things. This may particularly affect your fellow students or direct contacts.

The University of Basel’s IT Services do everything they can to protect your identity. In the end, however, you are responsible for the security of your own account. You are an essential link in the chain of the IT security of the whole university.
