LEARNING SUPPORT

5.2

Orientation

The more classes take place in virtual rooms, the more important it is to remain in contact with students via digital channels and to facilitate their orientation in the course of the semester.

Your communication and guidance concept should answer the following typical student questions:

  • What is the aim of this week/semester (learning objective)?

  • Which materials will be made available to achieve this?

  • What has to be done this week/semester to ensure the objective is achieved (learning activities)?

  • How can I tell that I have achieved the objective (feedback, formative assessments)?

Do make sure you receive feedback from students on organization of the classes and their learning progress. As a lecturer, how can you tell if your students are progressing as desired? Plan activities that will enable you to assess their progress.
