LaTeX: Styles

LaTeX documents typically heavily rely on styles, which is a good basis for accessibility. However, LaTeX’s default layout does not fulfil all accessibility requirements, e. g. with regard to font type and size. You should therefore make some modifications.

Assigning styles

When working with the word processing program LaTeX, it is almost impossible to avoid styles.

  • Main headings and subheadings are marked with \chapter{}, \section{} or \subsection{};
  • quotations with \begin{quote}...\end{quote} etc.

Proper hierarchical structuring of the elements and consistency in the layout are virtually guaranteed with this program. Just make sure to save the document as a PDF and not a DVI.

Modifying a Style

Modify the layout settings for the whole document in the preamble.
